Cornix firmware downloads, release history and the default keymap.

Before you update

Read the firmware update instructions, back up your current Vial layout, and use the correct left/right files for both halves. Firmware updates can clear layouts and pairing information.

Default keymap

cornix-default-keymap.vil — 8.6 KB. In Vial desktop, choose File → Load saved layout to import it.

v1.13 — known issues

No download is provided for this version on the source page. Released August 6, 2026. The August 13 note reports problems with Switch Output and indicator behavior. The September 1 note confirms multiple issues and says the page will be updated after a corrected release.

  • Fix for freezing when nested combos are used.
  • Fix for repeated Mouse Wheel Up output.
  • Fix for mouse-related keys on Android.
  • Added PDF key support, complex macro key input and Space Cadet keys.
  • Other improvements and optimizations.

If a firmware update changes the detected host layout from US to JIS, configure the keyboard layout again in your operating system.

  • Fixes disconnections associated with layer switching during certain operations.

  • Allows Permissive Hold and Hold on Other Key Press to be changed directly in Vial.
  • Fixes possible freezing when Caps Lock is pressed rapidly on macOS.
  • Strengthens power protection and improves stability.

  • Fixes the inability to set Tap Dance Tapping Term.
  • Fixes continued LED flashing after connection on Windows.
  • Fixes occasional reconnection problems with iOS.
  • Fixes importing Combos and Tap Dance in Vial.

For Combo and Tap Dance imports, the layout must have been exported using firmware v1.9 or later. Earlier exports are incompatible.

V1.9.zip — 530.2 KB.

  • Adds firmware version display in Vial’s Layout tab.

The keyboard ID changed in v1.8, so layouts exported with v1.8 cannot be loaded. The source release note asks users to use a layout exported before v1.8.
